Biographical Note

Ms. Anastasia Giadrossi is a Legal Officer at the Aarhus Convention secretariat, where she primarily supports the work of the Convention’s Compliance Committee and contributes to other areas of work under the Convention and its Protocol, including the promotion of the Convention to different regions and international forums. Anastasia has also assisted the Special Rapporteur on Environmental Defenders under the Convention, the newly established rapid response mechanism focusing on the protection of environmental defenders at risk of penalization, persecution and harassment.
Prior to joining the Aarhus Convention secretariat, she worked as a Policy Analyst at the Institute for European Environmental Policy, where she supported projects aimed at developing policy solutions related to land use in the context of European and international climate targets. She also worked as a Gender and Land Rights Expert at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations where she assisted in the development and implementation of a methodology for countries to report on a legal indicator on gender and land under the Sustainable Development Goals.
Anastasia holds a Master’s degree in Law from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, Italy, and an LL.M. in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
